Middle Belt Development Authority was established in 2017 by Act 962 of the Parliament of the Republic of Ghana.

The Mandate by the President

The Middle Belt Development Authority was set up to oversee the rapid development of the Middle Belt Zone namely: the Ashanti, Eastern, Bono, Bono East, and Ahafo Regions. It is the main vehicle for spearheading the development of these regions.

To undertake social and economic development initiatives to eradicate poverty and ensure thriving communities in the Middle Belt Development Zone (MBDZ)

MBDA zone is rich in mineral resources (ie cocoa, gold, cashew, gold, timber, etc) and diverse tourist sites.

MBDA Field trip to Mim Bour, Ahafo Region

Mim Bour or Mim Rocky Mountain consists of a group of three peaks rising from otherwise undulating countryside. The mountains are located about 390 kilometers (240 mi) northwest of Accra and 140 kilometers (87 mi) west of Kumasi. The area around the mountains has been partially developed into a tourist site.
